Hi, I am Grace

I am a fully qualified Integrative therapist specialising in Relationships, abuse and trauma. Throughout my years of therapeutic practice in trauma services, I have witnessed the destruction that abusive relationships of any kind, have on my clients and their lives, even years after the abuse or relationship has ended.

I have also realised that many available services either have long wait lists or focus solely on one isolated issue. However, trauma is a very complex and layered experience, and can often lead to a wide range of other presenting issues.

As a result of my specialised integrative training, I am able to offer my clients the multifaceted effective therapies they require to move through and beyond trauma and its emotional and physical effects, to reconnect with themselves, and to thrive instead of survive.

I am currently working in-person and online., and am a registered member of the BACP, this means I abide by their code of ethics and training standards.

Alongside my private practice at Reconnect, I work as a psychotherapist and DBT group facilitator for a charity who provide counselling to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Prior to this I worked for 2 years at Portsmouth Abuse and Rape Counselling Service (PARCS).

Outside of my clinical work, I have an interest in the restorative properties of sound, which are believed to aid regulation of the autonomic nervous system. I therefore have a sound therapy qualification and am currently developing a new branch of therapy combining CBT with restorative sound. I therefore hold one to one sound therapy sessions, as well as holistic group sound therapy for general wellbeing and corporate mental health days.

Before my Psychotherapy training and career, I coached women in the fashion industry. I therefore have a special understanding and interest in body image, socio-cultural gender stereotypes, feminism, and empowerment.

Our nervous system responds to real or perceived threat in various ways, and can often become 'stuck', therefore altering our affective experience. Regulation is key.

Existential Thought

What makes us human is our drive for authentic connections with others, and to create purpose and meaning in our lives. This allows us to feel fulfilled and find peace.

The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can meet and talk about what's on your mind.
